Located in North Eastern India along the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River,Assam is the land of the one-horned rhino and of course, the famed Assam tea. Nature’s rich bounty and rainfall ranging from 200 to 300 cms ensures a very special place for the teas grown here making Assam the single largest black tea producing region in the world. Discovered by British explorers in the first half of the nineteenth century, Assam tea with its malty, strong and full bodied, yet delicate liquor is appreciated by all and is particularly popular as a breakfast drink. The region produces teas of both Orthodox as well as the brisk and invigorating CTC variety.
