CUPEX GEL Silver is a copper pipe coated by a cross-linked polyethylene foam sheath externally coupled with an aluminium film.  This union results in an exclusive brand new pipe showing two great advantages: 

The main performance of the aluminium foil, which covers the whole pipe, is to reflect the of solar rays. That allows the pipe to be installed also outdoors without any additional covering or wrapping and without being deteriorated by the atmospheric agents. Particularly, the "cracking" phenomenon is warded off, thus avoiding the common degradation of the PE caused by its exposure to the sun.

CUPEX GEL Silver is then the only PE coated pipe on the market to be at the same time "Self-extinguishing" (Class 1) and UV-proof. Both these features are primary in the refrigeration plants field, as the tubes are often running outside the walls and always coming out of the ducts before the connection to the external unit. 

CUPEX GEL Silver's resistance to steam diffusion is the double as compared to that of other pipes on the market: "μ" 9878. Why such a high μ value is so much an advantage? A higher "μ" allows a reduction of the insulation thickness keeping the condensation-proof quality of the pipe untouched.

That's the reason why CUPEX GEL Silver has a thinner insulation than our standard CUPEX GEL, though guaranteeing the same performances. Thinner insulation means less bulky pipes and therefore installing operations easier and faster, which is much looked for and appreciated by our customers.
