Product Descriptions
SMCIP 401 ASI
The classical satellite distribution systems unmodified transmit the received satellite signal. Free TV satellite signals stay free-to-air and scrambled satellite signals haven't changed and stay scrambled. The scrambled satellite signals have to be decoded separately via the connected set top boxes or TV sets with integtrated satellite tuner. Every of these connected receivers requires an own smartcard and an own Conditional Access Module (CAM).
Now it is possible that every TV viewer can have access to the decoded satellite system without using an own smartcard and/or Conditional Access Module with the GSS.mux. He receives the transmitted scrambled channels free-to-air via the GSS.mux. In this way receivers without Common Interface are able to receive these channels. Therefore one smartcard per distribution network is enough for any numbers of users - a simple and cost-effective solution.
There are also the version with DVB-C and DVB-T output on this basis.
