Niclosamide is a chlorinated salicylanilide pesticide principally used against aquatic vertebrates and crustaceans.It is an anthelmintic effective in the treatment of diphyllobothriasis, diphyllobothriasis, hymenolepiasis. It is used to treat broad tapeworms (or fish, dwarf and beef). Niclosamide is a white to yellowish odourless crystalline powder; melting point 224 C; not soluble in water; sparingly soluble in ether, ethanol, chloroform, and soluble in acetone; administered orally to humans, cats, and dogs.
